Just recently, Mountain Province declared a state of calamity following the increasing cases of dengue.

Under Resolution number 2019-02, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) recommended the declaration of the province under the state of calamity to immediately take necessary measures to prevent the alarming increase in Dengue cases.

The provincial board considered the urgency of the matter as it involves the health and lives of its constituents to declare a state of calamity in the province.

“The department is hoping that the number of dengue cases in the region would start to decrease due to the typhoon season which we are in right now but never the less, we still advice the public to go to the nearest health center facility if they may show signs and symptoms of dengue,” Austria added.
