P247,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P247,000 worth of suspected shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug busts of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in this city from August 29 to 30.

The operations also led to the arrest of the five drug personalities identified as Argie Tacluyan, 31, of Barangay Banago; Jean Paul Relatos, 28, of Barangay Bata; Muksshin Tampi, 31, of Purok Kingfisher, Barangay 16; Lazaro Caceres, 36, of Barangay 16; and Jeny Arellano, 36, of Barangay 16, all in Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Tacluyan and his companion Relatos were arrested by operatives of Police Station 3 at Purok Paraiso, Barangay Banago around 3 a.m. Friday, August 30.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession five sachets of suspected shabu with estimated market value of P162,000, the P300 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Tampi, a high-value target, was arrested by operatives of Police Station 1 at Hernaez Street, Barangay 36 around 1:30 a.m. Friday.

Police recovered from Tampi’s possession 17 sachets of suspected shabu with estimated market value of P70,000, the P100 marked money, drug paraphernalia, and cellular phone.

Caceres and Arellano were arrested by operatives of Police Station 1 at Purok Kingfisher, Barangay 16 around 11 p.m. on Thursday, August 29.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession nine sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P15,000, the P100 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 1 and 3 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
