WALAY meningococcemia outbreak ang Brokenshire Memorial Hospital sa Davao City luyo sa nanggawas nga impormasyon sa social media nga dunay pasyente ang ospital nga namatay niini.
Gipagawas ang maong pamahayag human mikatag ang impormasyon sa social media uban sa hulagway sa usa ka bata nga dunay giingong meningococcemia ug ang impormasyon sa kapsyon niini nga na-post ug na-share sa Facebook, hinungdan nga gilayong nagpagula og public advisory ang Brokenshire Memorial Hospital.
“Brokenshire Memorial Hospital would like to shed light on the rumor circulating online about a confirmed Meningococcemia case yesterday, August 30, 2019. The patient was a SUSPECTED CASE who exhibited signs and symptoms similar with the case definition of the disease,” sa pahayag sa Brokenshire.
Dugang pa, “The collected specimen has been sent out to the microbiologist for confirmation. Infection Control protocols were immediately instituted. The ER and the hospital has been cleared by the Infection Control Committee and is now safe and operating normally as usual.”
Nagpagula sab og pamahayag ang lokal nga kagamhanan sa Davao City diin nagbutyag nga sa karon wala pa’y pagpamatuod nga magkompirma nga Meningococcemia ang gikamatyan sa biktima.
“However, there is no absolute data available now that confirms the child died of Meningococcemia. Blood samples were taken for examination and confirmatory tests,” ingon sa pahayag sa LGU-Davao.
Dugang sab sa pamahayag, “While waiting for results of the investigation, we encourage the public to keep calm, be cautious, and to refrain from spreading unnecessary information.”
Sa kakurat sa publiko gumikan sa giingong makatakod nga sakit pinaagi sa “Airborne” kun madala sa hangin, ang Department of Health (DOH) Davao Center for Health Development nagpaklaro nga dili kini tinuod.
“The mode of transmission of Meningococcemia is through DROPLET and NOT AIRBORNE. Direct contact with discharges from the nose and throat of the infected person might put someone else at risk. It can also be spread through coughing, sneezing, kissing, sharing of food, drinks and utensils,” pagpaklaro sa DOH-Davao.
Ang departamento kasamtangang nagsusi sa kamatayon sa kwatro-anyos nga batang lalaki.
Kini maoy nahimong tubag sa DOH sa nagkatag nga social media post nga ang iyang kamatayon niadtong Biyernes sa gabii, Agosto 30, sa maong ospital, giingong tungod sa meningococcemia.
Hinuon giklaro sa DOH nga ang Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) gihatag ngadto sa mga dunay kontak sa pasyente, naglakip sa sakop sa pamilya, tinun-an gikan sa pre-school kon diin ang nagkasakit nga bata nagtuon, ug ang emergency room staff kinsa subsob nga nag-atiman sa pasyente.
Gipasalig sa DOH nga ilang hugot nga gimonitor ang maong mga tawo sa bisan unsang sinyales ug simtomas naglakip sa kalintura, pagsuka-suka, body rashes, ug loose bowel movement.
“A team from the Department will visit and monitor the school to assist the teachers in proper information dissemination to the parents and ensure that everyone closely exposed to the deceased child will be given PEP.
