CCDC-Data Center rubber match postponed

THE lack of playing venues has forced the organizing committee of the 7th Cordillera Higher Education Sports Athletic Association to postpone the do-or-die match between Cordillera Career Development College and Data Center–Baguio.

The rubber match in the semis of men’s basketball was supposed to take place Thursday afternoon at the Easter College but it was learned that the venue will be used for a beauty pageant under the same association.

“We will still wait for the confirmation kung mayroong available na schedule sa Easter School. Hopefully by Monday or Tuesday na yung next game,” said Chesaa basketball commissioner Antonio Fernandez.

CCDC forced a rubber match Wednesday morning in their semis match against Data Center in a thrilling come from behind 100–95 victory right in their home court.

“Kung alam lang sana naming na di tuloy yung laro, we could just went to practice. Sayang lang yung oras naming,” said CCDC coach Delson Terceno.

In that game, Kim Bengeg timely drilled the game winning triple then scored another two points to seal the victory for the La Trinidad based squad.

Four Admirals scored in double digit during Wednesday’s game led by Stephen Agustin’s game high of 38 points, Allen Tamanga firing 19 points, while Jeffrey Narcilla and Rhed Lubos added 10 points each.

The Admirals overshadowed Data Center’s starting five who all scored double digits during that game with Eric Dulay firing 24 while Aaron Perpuse had 21 points. Kerubin Gonzaga chipped in 14 points while Bryan Calderon and Angelo Mendoza added 13 and 12 points apiece. (Rodz Osis)
