Ex-PAF fighter pilot appointed DOTr security chief

A RETIRED Philippine Air Force (PAF) general was appointed as chief of the Department of Transportation (DoTr) security office.

Lieutenant General Raul Del Rosario, former vice president for airport operations of the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC), was designated as the new administrator of the Office for Transportation Security (OTS), an attached agency of the DOTr.

President Rodrigo Duterte signed Del Rosario's appointment papers on August 28, 2019.

As OTS head, Del Rosario is responsible for the security in all transportation terminals all over the country.

The new OTS chief said the riding public deserve a safe travel.

"In dispensing transportation service to our passengers, safety and security should be an overriding concern. The public avails of our services in the hope that it will bring them to their destinations safely. We must not fail in this regard," Del Rosario said.

Del Rosario, a member of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) 1984 Class, became the commanding general of the PAF First Air Division stationed in Clark Air Base.

In 1994, Del Rosario is the country's military pilot who discovered China's invasion of the Mischief Reef which was previously controlled by the Philippines.
