THE 1Cebu Lex Idols, Gilas Defenders, Spartans and the Pañeros will duke it out for the right to advance to the championship round on Saturday after they hurdled their respective opponents in the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Basketball League 2019 First Conference last Saturday at the Capitol Parish Gym.

The 1Cebu Lex Idols downed the Dissenters BadBoys in dominant fashion, 94-68. Edwin Estorgio and Fermin Pepito proved to be too tough to handle for their opponent’s defense as the former topscored with 33 points while the latter added 23 markers. Reman Manubag and Khan Guieb also finished in double-figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

The Spartans waxed hot in the fourth canto to oust the Aniceta Red Vipers, 83-65, to advance to the semifinals. The Spartans outscored the Red Vipers, 29-16, in the fourth period to vanquish their opponents. Charles Divinagracia paced the Spartans with 20 points while Redemtor Regis added 15.

The Gilas Defenders meanwhile, defeated the Rebels, 67-52, as Van Ligutan put up 23 points.

The Pañeros advanced to the next round without breaking a sweat as the YLAC forfeited their match.

The semifinal pairings will see the Pañeros take on the 1Cebu Lex Idols while the Gilas Defenders will battle the Spartans. (JNP)
