Tourism Quiz Bee winners named

A GRADE six pupil from Luis B. Puentevella Elementary School in Barangay Taculing and a Grade 10 student of Paglaum Village National High School in Barangay Mansilingan were declared champions in Tourism Quiz Bee that was part of the City Tourism Week that opened at the Bacolod City Government Center lobby, September 5.

Loren Andrea Bertuso and Noelyn Grace Sumugat bested their fellow contestants in the elementary and high school levels, respectively.

The other winners in the elementary level were: Justine Yoshinara, Grade 6, ETCS 1—second place; Isabelle Fei Peña, Grade 6, Fr. Gratian Murray, AFSC Integrated School; Hannah Nicole Demegillo, Grade 6, Asuncion L. Lizares Elementary School; and Eioua Emmanuel David Baluyot, Grade 6, Mandalagan Elementary School—all consolation prize winners.

For high school, the other winners were: Erl Myca Lozada, Grade 10, La Consolacion College-Bacolod—second place; Ailex Valign Jimeña, Grade 9, Domingo Lacson National High School, Cassandra Kate Baniel, Grade 10, Fr. Gratian Murray AFSC Integrated School, and Leopoldo Catador, Grade 10, Bata National High School—all consolation prize winners.

Twelve elementary pupils and nine high school students competed in the Quiz Bee contest.

Leading the Tourism Week celebration were Councilor Israel Salanga, chair of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Tourism; and Acting City Tourism Officer Sandra Ruth Sycip.

The theme is, “Tourism and Jobs: A Better Future for All.”

Today[Sept. 6], a Tour-Guiding Contest for senior high school and college students will be held at the BCGC Lobby. (PR)
