P57.7-M school buildings planned in Angeles City

SCHOOL buildings worth P58 million will be erected in three public schools in Angeles City.

The project will be implemented under the educational program of First District Representative Carmelo “Jonjon” Lazatin II in coordination with his brother, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.

A total of P35.865 million will be allotted to Amsic Integrated School for the construction of a 16-classroom four-story building; P10.97 million for Apung Guidang Elementary School in Barangay Cutcut for a four-classroom two-story building; and P10.91 million in Leoncia Elementary School in Barangay Sto. Domingo for a four-classroom two-story building.

The Lazatin brothers recently led the groundbreaking and time-capsule laying ceremony.

The two officials were assisted by Vice Mayor Vicky Vega, Schools Division Superintendent Leilanie Cunanan and Assistant School Division Superintendent Maria Celina Vega, Department of Public Works and Highways-Pampanga 3rd District Engineering Office head Tito Salvador and Assistant District Engineer Arnold Ocampo.

Allan Traquina, Jayson Guzman, and Marilyn Dingal, principals of the mentioned schools, respectively, thanked Mayor Lazatin and Congressman Lazatin for their efforts to push for educational projects in the City.

Mayor Lazatin said he and his brother will continue the programs of his late father, former Angeles mayor and Pampanga congressman Carmelo Tarzan Lazatin, on education.

"We will continue the legacy of our father, to provide free education to our poor but deserving students," the mayor said.
