DepEd installs new schools division superintendent

DEPARTMENT of Education (DepEd) Eastern Visayas director Ramir Uytico on Friday, September 6, led in the installation of Dr. Manuel Albaño as the new schools division superintendent of Leyte.

Albaño, who was previously assigned in Ormoc City Division, will replace then Leyte schools division superintendent Dr. Ronelo Al Firmo who is now promoted as DepEd assistant director of Central Luzon.

Firmo is also one of 14 finalists in the 2019 Gawad Career Executive Service (CES) Presidential Award.

Leyte Division’s Assistant Schools Division Superintendents are Marilyn Siao and Edgar Tenasas.

Known as the biggest division in Eastern Visayas, Leyte Division has 80 districts, 1,257 schools, 14,287 teachers, 1,587 related teaching and non-teaching personnel, and 378,253 students as of 2018. (SunStar Philippines)
