Gamboa to represent PCL at Provincial Board

SILAY City councilor and former ABS-CBN news anchor Ryan Gamboa will represent the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) after he was elected as the new president, Thursday, September 5.

Gamboa, a member of local party Love Negros, who got 179 voted won over Sagay City Councilor Arthur Christopher Marañon, who represents the United Negros Alliance, garnered 148 votes.

La Carlota City Councilor Julius Martin Asistio was elected as vice president of the local PCL running unopposed.

After being elected to the post, Gamboa hopes all the councilors in the province will unite and work together.

Marañon, meanwhile, accepted his loss.

Although the elections were successfully held, the polls was initially delayed after three town councilors of Salvador Benedicto asserted that they will cast their votes again after they dropped blank ballots.

Don Salvador Benedicto town Councilor and ABC president Henry Alcorin said that DILG Provincial Director Ferdinand Panes has allowed them to cast their votes again after they explained their sides that they committed an honest mistake when they dropped blank ballots at the official ballot box.
