P16M drugs seized in 2 days

ANTI-NARCOTICS operatives seized more than P16 million worth of shabu and marijuana in the cities of Lapu-Lapu and Cebu on Sept. 5-6, 2019.

During a drug bust in Sitio Mustang, Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City on Thursday night, Arcelia Tamarion, 35, and her live-in partner Stanley Urdaneta, 37, were arrested by personnel of the City Intelligence Branch led by P/Lt. Col. Mark Gifter Sucalit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 7.

The suspects hail from Barangay T. Padilla, Cebu City. They yielded P7.1 million worth of “shabu.”

Sucalit said his unit learned of the suspects’ illegal activity after his personnel caught their cohort in a buy-bust.

Tamarion and Urdaneta yielded two packs of “shabu,” and each weighed a kilo and 55 grams, respectively. A loaded .45 pistol was recovered from Urdaneta’s possession.

On Thursday dawn, the personnel of the Cebu City Mobile Force Company, Cebu City Drug Enforcement Unit and Talamban Police City uprooted P3 million worth of nearly 10,000 marijuana plants in the mountain village of Barangay Adlawon.

On Friday, Sept. 6, the Mandaue City Police Station 1 collared tattoo artist Niño Aguilar Develos, 29, in Happy Valley, Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City. Seized from him was P6.8 million worth of “shabu.”

Develos’s arrest followed the capture of his alleged customer, who divulged the suspect as his supplier. (from ANV and BBT of Superbalita Cebu/KAL)
