ASPI Hardbacks win vs Fluor Pandas in E-Leagues for Basketball

THE Author Solutions Philippines Inc. (ASPI) Hardbacks nipped the Fluor Pandas, 78-77, to win their second game in a row in the Evo League division of the CSCC E-Leagues for Basketball 2019 Saturday, September 7, 2019, at the City Sports Club-Cebu basketball court.

Jade Seno proved to be the Hardbacks’ most potent weapon as he scored 23 points to go with six rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block. Forward Donald de Leon added 16 points and eight boards while former University of Southern Philippines Foundation Panther, Ellison Rivera, had 11 points, nine rebounds and five assists to help ASPI improve to 4-3 (win-loss).

In other Evo League matches, the Kyocera Frontiers got back on track with a 64-37 bashing of the Shearwater Crusaders to push their record to 5-1. Matthew Grafilo had 22 points, four boards and six assists while Winston Panal added 18 for last season’s Evo League runners-up.

The Executive Boutique SVC Bulldogs also routed the CTC-BPO Trojans, 65-41. Point guard Aristotle Alcos led the way with 18 points, three boards, eight assists and five steals while Carlo Suan racked up a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds along with six assists and three steals to give the Bulldogs their fourth win in seven games.

The Results Newtown Spartans beat the Medspecialized Unicorns, 65-58, thanks to the performances of Ryan Borromeo who had 24 points and seven boards and Kim Luzano who tallied 23 markers, five rebounds and four dimes. The Spartans improved to 2-4.

In the only Elite Classic game of the day, the Teleperformance Vipers bested the Wipro Tigers, 74-73, to raise their record to 5-2, good for third place in the standings. (JNP)
