350 new policemen undergo 6-month training

A TOTAL OF 350 new policemen are undergoing a six-month Public Safety Basic Recruit Course in Zamboanga City.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said the training started after the newly-recruited policemen took their oath on Friday, September 6, at Camp Colonel Romeo Abendan.

Of the total new recruits, 286 are male while the remaining 64 are female, who have undergone rigorous selection process.

Galvez said they will undergo a six-month basic training at the Regional Training Center-9 of the Philippine Public Safety College at Camp Felicisimo Marcos in Zamboanga City.

Galvez said they will also undergo another six-month field training program to become permanent members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) after the completion of the first six months of basic training.

Police Brigadier General Ronaldo Llanera, deputy regional director for administration, reminded the newly appointed policemen to obey the law and be the new breed of disciplined, God-fearing, and service-oriented officers. (Bong
