EVEN before cosmetic surgery clinics flock Davao City, Dr. Luz Acosta-Barrientos has already established her own cosmetic surgery clinic in Arellano Street, Davao City in 2014 after passing her diplomate examination in the Philippine Board of Cosmetic Surgery, ranking Top 1 among 60 other examinees.

The LPA Ambulatory Surgery & Diagnostic Center, Inc., established through her own pocket, is among the very few homegrown cosmetic surgery clinics in the city.

“I want the people to gain back or boost their self-confidence,” the doctor said when asked why she thought of putting up cosmetic surgery clinic in the city.

But beyond this reason lies the noteworthy aim why she pursued the establishment of a cosmetic surgery clinic: to sustain her charitable work in the city where she belongs.

“To sustain the free eye surgical services I offer to indigent patients, specifically cataract patients,” Dr. Acosta-Barrientos said.

LPA Ambulatory Surgery & Diagnostic Center, Inc., a Department of Health (DOH)-licensed facility, offers cosmetic surgical and non-invasive procedures as well as stem cell therapy.

Among the cosmetic surgical procedures (invasive, going under the knife procedures) they offer are nose lift, face lift, eye bag removal, “Bat-ear” repair and reconstruction, blepharoplasty or the removal of excess skin, muscles or fat from the upper or lower eyelids, scar removal/revision, eye plastic and reconstructive surgery, fat removal and transfer surgery, and breast augmentation, liposuction, tummy tuck, lid fold surgery, among others.

Non-invasive procedures include botox, and express facial, presidential facial with mask, facial with skin tightening, facial with diamond peel, diamond peel and laser skin rejuvenation for its skin treatment procedures.

With these services her clinic offers, Dr. Acosta-Barrientos is being involved in the formation of the Davao City Medical Tourism led by Davao City Councilors Myrna Ortiz, Joselle D. Villafuerte, MD, Davao Tourism Association (Data) president Gatchi Gatchalian, and City Tourism Operations Officer (CTOO) head Generose Tecson, which aims to further boost tourism industry in Davao City.

The LPA Ambulatory Surgery & Diagnostic Center, Inc. also caters to eye patients as it offers eye surgical treatments and laser procedure.

Dr. Joseph Acosta, her cousin who is a plastic reconstructive surgeon, also partners with her in some of her surgeries.
