P51,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P51,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug bust operations of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Saturday, September 7.

The operations led to the arrest of two drug personalities. They were identified as Jessel May Jareta and Ralph Daniel Santos, both from Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Jareta was arrested by operatives of Police Station 10 after she sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover in Purok Sto. Domingo, Barangay Handumanan at 1:46 p.m.

Recovered from Jareta's possession were seven sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P15,000, the marked money, and a pouch.

Pico said Jareta was a former drug surrenderer who was categorized as a high-value target in the area of Police Station 10.

Santos, who was also a high-value target, was arrested by operatives of Police Station 2 in Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2 around 1:45 p.m.

Recovered from Santos's possession were four sachets of shabu with estimated market value of P36,000, the marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 2 and 10, and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
