Goats outclass Lions in USC Alumni league

THE 2002 Goats showed no love to their sister squad, the 2002 Lions, as they waylaid the latter, 56-37, in Division 2 of the University of San Carlos North Alumni Basketball Club 2019 Cebu City Mayor’s Cup on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, at the University of San Carlos north campus gym.

Joseph Move was the largest thorn on the Lions’ side as he had 23 points, three rebounds and two steals to push the Goats to the win.

In other Division 2 matches, the 2001 Shipmen nipped the 2004 Rebels, 64-49. Conrad Plando led the Shipmen to the victory as he had 12 points, four boards, two assists, two steals and a blocked shot.

The 2005 Chameleons also edged the 2003 Stallions, 55-53, as Macky Campomanes had 12 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile in the Seniors division, the 1986 Wave Riders got the best of the 1985 Legends, 62-37, as Arturo Ata tallied 20 points, six boards and two assists. The 1990 Titans prevailed over the 1987 Bros, 51-40, behind Hector Lawas’ 21 points, five assists and an incredible eight steals.

In Division 1, the 1993 Dragons slayed the 1998 Sipat, 52-47. They were led by the 22 points and seven boards of Bong Eleazar. The 1996 Chubbies also won over the 1995 Pirates, 44-31.

Over in Division 3, the 2013 Districts took down the 2010 Pioneers, 74-64, as King Osabel shone with 25 points, seven boards and four assists. The 2009 Legacy also snatched a 64-55 win over the 2007 Waybus, led by the 26 points, eight rebounds and four assists of Dominic Adlawan. (JNP)
