RICO’S Lechon bagged three international business awards.

The business and its owner George Nocom Pua was named one of the winners of the Stevie® Award for Company of the Year, PR Campaign of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year for Food and Beverage (medium size category) in the 16th annual International Business Awards®.

“I am so elated, so honored that there are organizations that recognize all the hard work that you’ve done. Opening one store after the other, one in every month is no joke. It’s not a one-man show but is a product of teamwork. You have to have the full support of your team,” said Pua.

“All of our stores are blockbuster. But it’s not a matter of how much you are making but on how many people believed in you. Because people coming to your restaurant means they believe in your concept, they believe in your food and in everything that you do,” he added.

Since Pua took over Rico’s Lechon in 2018 through Meat Concepts Corp., the business has grown to eight branches, of which five branches are located in Manila and three in Cebu.

The new team led by Pua will receive the awards at the International Business Awards gala event at Andaz Vienna Am Belvedere Hotel on Oct. 19, 2019 in Vienna, Austria.

Coveted award

The Stevie® Awards is the world’s premier business event that was created in 2002 to garner the public’s recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and individual professionals. The competition is one of the most coveted prizes for businesses and organizations worldwide.

The Stevie Award winners are determined by 250 professionals and they have reviewed a record of more than 4,000 nominations this year.

However, only about 35 percent of those nominations received high enough average scores to win the gold, silver or bronze levels. (KOC with PR)
