Monsoon rains flood 2nd, 3rd district villages

THE Pampanga Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) reported that 15 barangays in Pampanga's second and third district towns experienced flooding Tuesday, September 19, due to heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon.

The highland town of Floridablanca reported flooding in Barangays Fortuna, Solib, Maligaya, and San Nicolas. Flood waters have been reported to be at least three-foot deep.

In Guagua town, flooding was experienced in certain sections of Barangays Santo Cristo, San Agustin, San Miguel, San Pablo, San Matias and Bancal. Flooding was registered from two to three feet high in most areas.

Some areas in Barangay Tinejero and Cabetican in Bacolor town also experienced flooding, so goes with some areas in Barangay Pandaras, Santa Teresita and San Nicolas, in the City of San Fernando, which were also flooded because of the almost non-stop rains.

As of 3 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, a low pressure area was spotted near Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. Weather experts said the southwest monsoon is expected to affect Pampanga and the rest of Luzon until Friday, September 13.
