KAGAY-ANONS are in for a sweet treat as Cagayan de Oro's "Instagrammable Cafe" Espressini Cafe and Resto officially launches this week a new set of cakes in addition to its existing tasty sweets.

After spending time on research, Espressini Cafe and Resto owner Anna Rochelle Uy, together with her chef, came up with a new idea -- an "innovation" -- to add five variants of cakes to bring more choices for their cake-loving customers.

Apart from the seven existing cakes on their menu (Belgian Chocolate Cake, Mango Carnival Cake, Blueberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Caramel Mousse Cake, Triple Chocolate Oreo Cheesecake, Ube Macapuno Cake and Scarlet Velvet Cake), the following are their new set of classically new tasty sweet treats:

* Purple Yam Cheesecake. A cheesecake that comes with the well-known Philippine dessert "ube halaya." It has the strikingly bright purple color and the delicious flavor of ube.

* Sunny Lemon Cheesecake. A cheesecake with a hint of citrus lemon. As the name suggest, its bright yellow color is like that of a sun. It has the sweet taste of cheesecake and the tangy flavor of lemon.

* Japanese Matcha Cheesecake. A cheesecake with green tea. The green tea used in the cake, according to the owner, is of high quality. A cake suitable for those who wanted not too sweet cakes and are fond of green tea.

* White Chocolate Mocha Cake. For this cake, the owner said they are using white chocolate instead of the plain chocolate with a mix of locally produced coffee.

* Classic Sans Rival. A Filipino dessert cake made of layers of buttercream, meringue, and chopped cashews. Although other versions of Sans Rival use pistachio, the owner said they wanted to stick to the classics to give the Kagay-anons the feel of nostalgia of the loved Filipino dessert.

With the added varieties of cakes, Espressini Cafe and Resto customers will have more choices of flavors, from the classics and the "trending" to simple and the "instagrammable" with the affordable price range of P95 to P125 per slice.
