OBO, CDRRMO to investigate developer in Tisa

THE Cebu City Council has urged the Office of the Building Official (OBO) and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) to investigate a real estate developer after its riprap wall collapsed in Barangay Tisa on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019.

Councilor Phillip Zafra, Tisa’s former barangay captain, passed the resolution, urging OBO and CDRRMO to conduct an inquiry and seek the reasons behind the cave-in of Deca’s slope protection, damaging some private properties in the area.

The riprap’s collapse happened during a heavy downpour last Sept. 1. Some parts of Cebu City, its downtown area and Tisa were flooded on that day.

“Such was a horrible experience that the people in the affected sitios are calling for an investigation on the aforesaid incident,” a portion of Zafra’s resolution reads.

Zafra said the City should take action as the incident placed some Tisa residents’ lives in danger.
