Iloilo City to replicate emergency operations center

AN EMERGENCY Operations Center will be established at the proposed Iloilo City Action and Response (ICare) command center.

This is another initiative of Mayor Jerry Treñas in addressing the welfare of the Ilonggos for a better, resilient, adaptive, and sustainable city.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), City Planning and Development Office, Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO), and Information Systems Office conducted a study visit at Office of Civil Defense Central Office, and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) recently.

They looked at possible replication of NDRRMC Emergency OpCen in the soon-to-rise ICare set to start construction this year at Iloilo City Center of Gaisano Capital Group along Diversion Road in Mandurriao district.

The P38-million five-story state-of-the-art ICare will house CDRRMO, PSTMO’s Intelligent Transport System, satellite police and fire offices with standby ambulances, patrols, and fire trucks. (PR)
