TELECOMMUNICATIONS company Sky Cable Corp. has rolled out its Sky Fiber plans, as it looks to expand in Cebu.
The company introduced its Sky Fiber All-in Box, which combines a WiFi-enabled modem, digital terrestrial box TV and cable TV digibox.
Sky general manager Charles Andrei Gito said the launch of their new products signals the firm’s expansion in Cebu.
“As with our pay TV business, we continue to enrich experiences but this time with Sky Fiber. Be it research, watching movies, playing games, thus giving them a chance to be informed,” he said.
A first of its kind in the country, Gito said the box is a hybrid product that targets to give households various choices of entertainment.
“This innovation is our answer to the Filipinos’ clamor for an enhanced internet experience and an enhanced way of living,” Gito said.
Alan Supnet, head for broadband, said they continue to address customer problems, especially on internet connection.
“The customer pain point we are trying to address is the constant battle between speed, price and content,” he said. Supnet said the telco firm offers various internet plans to ride on the cutthroat competition in the industry.
Sky is offering plans of 5mbps for P999 per month, 25mbps for P1,499 and Plan 50 at P1,999.
“We’re confident to say that we are the most affordable postpaid plan in the market today,” he said. Joy Lantin, head for cable, said their plans also allow customers to personalize the services they want.
“You can now subscribe to your favorite cable channel like in pay-per-view so you don’t need to get the entire plan,” she said.
The Fiber box also offers a program schedule reminder, the ability to record shows, a built-in media player for video and music, parental control settings for those who want to monitor their children’s viewing and access to one’s account information such as account data and billing information.
Sky’s new product is now available in the cities Cebu, Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, Talisay, Naga and municipality of Minglanilla, among others. The company is eyeing to expand their broadband reach to other areas depending on market demand. (JOB)
