THE Gift for Mama Mary concert starred by Negrense Charity Diva Token Lizares with the special participation of Las Vegas balladeer Jun Polistico, fast rising Kiel Alo, the Los Angeles i-SING champion 2017 Alexa Peller and Bossanova Queen of Negros Joanne Bernal held at Grand La Proa ballroom, L’ Fisher hotel in Bacolod City last September 6 was a resounding success.
“We give thanks and praise to God and to the Blessed Mother for the success of our benefit concert. It is indeed a pre-birthday celebration of our dear Mama Mary whose birthday fell on September 8. All Marian devotees were there and have given their utmost and total support to the show. People here in Negros were amazingly generous to the church of God. I thank them all from the bottom of my heart. Some people from Manila came just to witness the show,” Lizares said.
She also thanked all the performers that night and the Church Parish Priest Fr. Louan Torrefranca, Fr. Roselo Villarosa who sang the invocation.
“My heartfelt and endless thanks to all those who helped us in everything to make this concert a great success. The committee headed by Fr.Louan gave their all-out support, to those who prayed namely Bishop Patricio Buzon who graced our concert, all priests and nuns from different congregations, people who attended the show, thank you so much,” she added.
Lizares said this charity concert aims to raise funds for the construction of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Barangay Taloc, Bago City which has long been dilapidated.
“God has been using me and other world-class entertainers to make use of our talents to help the needs of others especially a dilapidated Church in Taloc. God has continued to inspire me and my group to share our talents without expecting any return. I hope that our fellow Bacolodnons and Negrenses will support this charity concert so that we will be able to build a church for Mama Mary,” she said.
Rev. Fr. Louan P. Torrefranca, Parish Priest said Mama Mary is known for her miraculous intervention, “We believe that the Our Lady of Lourdes will bring people together with charitable hearts to work for healing and for the completion of the church named after her which can be refuge of her children especially the sick ones. We are appealing for those who can share their benevolent support in making us realize this dream to have a new home for Mama Mary and the Marian devotees. May God, who has begun His good works in you bring it to fulfillment.”
