THE Pink October Run will continue with its primary goal which is to raise breast cancer awareness when the 13th edition of the sporting event unfolds on Oct. 13, 2019, at the Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu.
The Philippine College of Surgeons Central Visayas Chapter will use the event as an opportunity to disseminate and spread awareness about breast cancer.
The month of October celebrates the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This year’s event will have three categories—the men’s and women’s 12-kilometer, 6K and 3K.
All the categories will have a special doctor’s category.
Head organizer Dr. Peter Mancao underlines the importance of early diagnosis of breast cancer.
“We’ve been getting simple cases and that is because of early diagnosis,” said Mancao during the event’s launching on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, at the Casino Español.
About 800 runners are expected to join the race.
The organizers said they will invite Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella and Vice-Mayor Michael Rama to grace the event.
Registration fee is pegged at P500.
