Cuenco: Fall 2019 hair color trends

NOT that autumn will befall (pun intended) our tropical address. But now that September and more rains are here, it seems like a good time to make a seasonal change in hair color.

I’m not sure if I’m going to do anything myself. I have kept my hair its natural color for the past few months after years of dyeing and highlighting, which were killing my strands. I’m just looking at these color trends with envy for now, but these might serve as inspo for you on your trip to the salon this month.

Chocolate Rose Gold

Last year’s version of the brown and pastel combination was mushroom brown with almost lavender ends. This year is a combination of the chocolate and rose gold hair colors that have been popular for several seasons. This has a cooler dark chocolate brown at the base and an undetectable gradation to pink tones at the ends. Yes, you will need an expert colorist for this.

Dark Roast

This is easy to achieve with our dark Filipina hair. A few fine highlights will do the trick; just check that the colorist doesn’t over bleach and follows the highlights with a toner to avoid orange or brassy tones, which are a common occurrence in trying to lighten black hair.

Soft Red

Coral or scarlet hair might be fun, but may not be allowed in many schools or workplaces. For a modern way to ease into becoming a redhead, try this soft red approach, which will be easier to achieve if your hair is already highlighted or a lighter brown.
