CEBUANO fans will be thrilled as they get the chance to cheer on Cebuano hero June Mar Fajardo as he and the rest of the powerhouse San Miguel Beermen take on the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup on Nov. 9, 2019 at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City.
This is according to the official schedule that was released by the league on Thursday, Sept. 12.
The Beermen are gunning for a historic “grand slam” after winning the championships in the Philippine Cup and the Commissioner’s Cup.
Fajardo, the pride of Pinamungajan and a product of the University of Cebu, was elated upon hearing the news that he and his team would be playing in front of the Cebuanos once again.
“This is a chance for the Cebuanos to see the game live and to see their idols in person,” said the soft-spoken giant in a brief talk with SunStar Cebu.
Fajardo is currently enjoying a brief vacation in his hometown after a grueling stint in the 2019 Fiba World Cup. San Miguel’s first game in the Governors’ Cup won’t be until Sept. 25 when they take on the Phoenix Pulse Fuelmasters.
