4 nabbed, P250-K shabu seized in anti-drug stings

FOUR people, including two alleged “transporters,” were arrested while some P250,000 worth of suspected shabu were seized in two separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police announced Thursday.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as: Munib Narido, 21; Iradji Ian Gigante, 28; Benjimar Jul Adam, 29; and, Nursima Majindi, 40.

Galvez disclosed that Adam and Majindi were allegedly transporting the suspected

shabu from Jolo, Sulu to Zamboanga City.

Galvez said Narido, Gigante and Adam were caught in possession of some P180,000 worth of suspected shabu, P500 marked money and two coin purses when they were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 2:35 a.m. Thursday, September 12, at a motel on Varela Street in the village of Zone 1, Zamboanga City.

Galvez said Majindi was arrested in a follow-up buy-bust operation around 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Aquino Drive in the village of Baliwasan.

She said seized from Majindi’s possession were some P70,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in three heat-sealed plastic sachets and P1,000 marked money.

She said charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. (SunStar Philippines)
