Authorities said the vehicular accident happened around 9:30 a.m. Thursday along the national highway of Barangay San Roque, Tolosa town.

The incident involved a Toyota Hilux 4X4 patrol car issued to Police Mobile Force Company of the Northern Leyte Provincial Police Office driven by Staff Sargeant Archie Depaz, 39, a resident of Barangay Tabu, Dulag town.

The passengers were identified as Patrolman Genelyn Samante, 31; Patrolman Mark Napoles, 25; Patrolman Roy Lendly Garcia Fortaliza, 33; and Patrolman Rommel Cugal, 29, who was slightly injured on his right palm.

Initial investigation showed that the patrol car was traveling from Baybay City, Leyte to Tacloban City when upon reaching Barangay San Roque, the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The patrol car swerved to the left side of the road and accidentally crashed into the electrical post and concrete fence of the house owned by Reynaldo Villalino Morales, police said. (SunStar Philippines)
