34 families displaced by floods

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Dozens of Kapampangan families were already displaced by the lingering flood brought about by the onslaught of the southwest monsoon enhanced by Tropical Depression “Marilyn”, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) said Friday, September 13.

Based on the situational report, a total of 34 families or 148 individuals were already evacuated by the local DRRMOs as of Friday noon as part of the pre-emptive measures implemented for the safety of the residents.

In particular, four families or 21 individuals from Barangay Pulung Bulu in the City of San Fernando and 30 families or 127 individuals from Barangay San Vicente Northville in Apalit town have taken temporary shelter in covered courts of their respective areas.

Meanwhile, at least 39 villages in the towns of Macabebe, Masantol, Apalit and City of San Fernando, were reportedly still submerged in up to three feet of floodwater, the PDRRMO’s situational report furthered.

The PDRRMO, through its city and municipal counterparts, continue to conduct close monitoring of the over-all situation of the province and are ready to implement quick disaster response if needed.
