PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Bases and Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) president, Vivencio Dizon, as presidential adviser for flagship programs and projects.

Dizon’s designation as presidential adviser has been effective since April 4 this year, according to his appointment paper signed by Duterte on August 27.

Dizon, as an adviser of Duterte, will monitor the government’s flagship programs and projects.

Prior to his stint at the BCDA, Dizon served as a consultant of House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano who was then Senate Majority Leader.

The BCDA chief’s concurrent role as presidential adviser for flagship programs and projects came after Duterte on July 25 signed Executive Order (EO) 86, which makes Dizon as new member of the Cabinet infrastructure cluster.

Duterte, in Executive Order 86, stressed the need to reorganize the Cabinet infrastructure cluster, as he acknowledged the BCDA’s role to “adopt, prepare and implement a comprehensive and detailed development plan for the conversion of the Clark and Subic Military reservations into other productive uses to promote economic and social development.” (SunStar Philippines)
