CLOSE to 1,000 runners and fitness buffs will get a unique running experience in the 1st Safari Fun Run on Sept. 15, 2019, at the Cebu Safari and Adventure Park in Carmen. The 3-kilometer category raked in the most number of runners with 510 registrants. The 12K distance attracted 192 runners, the 5K category got 172 participants, while the 21K run has 70 runners. The four categories will have a separate route. The 3K and 5K distance will be within the concrete roads of the zoo, while the longer distances 21K and 12K will pass through the muddy terrains. The trail run is organized to promote Cebu’s tourism and the Cebu Safari & Adventure Park. Elsewhere, the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Alumni Association Inc. will host the 7th Recoletos Run, which starts and ends in front of the Cebu City Hall. The run will feature 12K, 6K and 3K categories. Parts of the proceeds will be used to fund scholarship grants to the scholars of the USJR- Alumni Association Inc. (RSC)
