Duno eyes KO win vs. Garcia in us fight

With his sights set on a fight with unbeaten prospect Ryan Garcia, hard-hitting Romero Duno will be going for a knockout against Ivan Delgado on Sept. 15, 2019 (PHL time), at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. “Someone’s going down,” Duno’s coach Rodel Mayol told SunStar Cebu. “Duno has the advantage in power. If he hits Delgado, his game will change.” Duno weighed-in at 135 pounds, while Delgado was overweight at 138 pounds. The 23-year-old Duno has been on a run since making his US debut back in 2017. He scored scored a second-round knockout over highly-regarded prospect Christian Gonzalez to win the World Boxing Council (WBC) Youth Inter-Continental lightweight belt. He won his next five fights in the US, beating the likes of Yardley Armenta Cruz, Juan Pablo Sanchez, Gilberto Gonzalez, Ezequiel Aviles and former world title challenger Juan Antonio Rodriguez. / (EKA)
