FOR many Dabawenyos, when you think of dining at the Marfori Heights Subdivision, one of the first restaurants to come into your minds is Lachi’s.

Conveniently located along Ruby St. at Values School, Door 1-H, this neighborhood diner is packed for most of the time. Lachi’s is one of the beloved restaurants in Davao City with their delicious pastries and homey dishes.

After filming our Durian Cheesecake episode for Best of Davao, Lachi’s owners Mike and Melvin Aviles prepared a delicious selection of some of their best sellers.

On the table was Oriental Fried Chicken, Spicy Laing, Retro Chicken-Pork Adobo, Unforgettable Grilled Pork Ribs, Pork Binagoongan, and Spicy Tofu with Egg.

We enjoyed every bite of the dishes they served.

My favorite has to be the Retro Chicken-Pork Adobo. It was simply a homey dish that you want to keep on eating. The meat of the chicken and pork was also very tender.

I also enjoyed the Pork Binagoongan. I am not a fan of the Binagoong, but this dish was delicious. It had a great balance of sweet and salty.

The Spicy Laing was a surprise favorite of mine. I loved how mildly spicy it was.

For dessert, we had the Chiffon Cake, Lachi’s Sans Rival, Lemonsito cheesecake, and Five Chocolate. Of course, all four of these were delicious.

The Chiffon Cake has to be the best chiffon cake I have ever had. Lachi’s worked their magic on this. The cake was fluffy and it melts in your mouth.

Lachi’s Lemonsito Cheesecakes was also a hit. It was a wonderful balance of sourness and sweetness.

If you are looking for homey meals and delicious desserts, I would recommend you visit Lachi’s.
