AFTER the Smart-Gilas Pilipinas National team, Cebu’s pride M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu Niños will next take on the Talk ‘n Text Tropang Texters of the PBA in two exhibition matches today at 5 p.m. and tomorrow at the Cebu Coliseum.

Carrying the momentum of an overwhelming 79-76 deciding win against the Gilas last Friday, the Niños will again face another tall order against the battle-scarred Tropang Texters.

TNT caused an uproar of sorts in the PBA when it walked out of Game 4 of their quarterfinal series against the Ginebra Kings, earning a fine of more than P1 million.

The PBA has since increased the fine for walkouts to P10 million.

TNT’s presence will also allow the Cebuanos to see former collegiate star, Joseph Ronald Quiñahan, who used to play for the University of the Visayas.

Quiñahan was traded from Burger King at the off season and will be joining Ali Peek, Ranidel de Ocampo, Nic Belasco and Harvey Carey in the frontcourt.

The games against the Niños will also allow TNT to test its import Eric Hicks, who is a good defensive player with excellent shot blocking ability.

It is not the first time the Texters will be facing the Niños.

In February 2008, TNT defeated the Niños, 101-97, with Don Allado leading the charge of the PBA squad.
