THE editorial, business, and administrative teams of SunStar Bacolod, headed by editor-in-chief Churchill Aguilar, tossed out a simple but meaningful celebration on Saturday, September 14.

The celebration started with a thanksgiving mass and blessing of SunStar Business Office located at VSB Building, 6th Lacson Street, Bacolod City.

Reverend Fr. Brigido Casas was the officiating priest.

The 11th anniversary celebration of SunStar Bacolod fell on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross according to Fr. Casas.

"The mere fact that you celebrate your anniversary with a mass, you are putting God into the center of your celebration. God wants us to remember each other. He wants us to work together and not alone. God's creation often comes or made in pairs because He doesn't want us to live alone or in solitary. You are celebrating not just your anniversary, but likewise the camaraderie and friendship that you formed in the past 11 years," Fr. Casas said.

The blessing of the new office and a ceremonial ribbon-cutting were held in between the mass.

The ribbon-cutting was led by Aguilar, senior reporter Teresa Ellera, and Femile A. Magbanua, Marketing head of Merzci Pasalubong.

After the mass, the attendees partook the refreshments provided by Merzci and then proceeded to Spoonmuget at C.L. Montelibao Drive in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City for the luncheon celebration.

Couple Jojane and Michael Morcilla welcomed the Bacolod SunStar team, their families, and other guests in their awesome restaurant.

The food was flavorful and delicious, matched with two Lechon and cool beverages.

Many have sent their congratulations to SunStar Bacolod during the celebration, namely, Bacolod City Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya, Bacolod City Water District, San Miguel Corporation, and Spoonmugnet.

Spoonmugnet owners Jojane and Michael prepared the setup, food, and music lounge for the SunStar team and their guests to continue enjoying their 11th-anniversary celebration with a sing-along-contest.

SunStar Bacolod also expressed its gratitude to SunStar Philippines President Julius G. Neri and Anthony Onrejas, division chief of SunStar Management, for providing prizes that were raffled off to SSB team.

Of the 16 heads and employees of SunStar Bacolod, three major winners have emerged, namely, Carla N. Cañet, who won the grand prize of an LED television, followed by Teresa D. Ellera and Erwin Nicavera who won second and third prizes, respectively.

The rest won cash prizes.

Aguilar greatly appreciated and thanked everyone for making the 11th anniversary celebration more fun and meaningful.

"This is the perfect time to celebrate. I am very blessed, proud and honored to be part of your team. It is always a feather on a cap to be part of SunStar Bacolod. And there is so much reason to celebrate because you have helped made this company what it is right now. Our challenge is for us to continue doing it better. And we have all the right reasons to celebrate because you are all doing well in what you do," the editor-in-chief said.
