Police find getaway car in robbery at Villamonte, Bacolod City

OPERATIVES of Police Station 4 recovered the getaway vehicle of the three suspects, which was found abandoned at Bag-ong Dalan Barangay 35, after they robbed the two victims along Villa Angela, Burgos Extension, Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City Tuesday morning, September 17.

Police identified the victims as Aaron Munoz, 24, and Kane Irish Dominguez, 20, both residents of Barangay Dos Hermanas, Talisay City.

Police Lieutenant Rondyl Tapang, chief of Police Station 4, said the victims were walking along Villa Angela going to their work when Toyota Innova color white blocked their way at about 3 a.m.

He said two of the three suspects, who were armed of unidentified firearms, alighted and declared hold-up.

The suspects carted away the bags of the victims, the P580 cash and fled.

Tapang said the victims managed to ask police assistance and when the operatives arrived in the area, the Toyota Innova was seen along Burgos Street and tried to escape.

“Our policemen chased them until they reached along Barangay 35 and the suspects abandoned the vehicle at Bag-ong Dalan and fled,” he said.

The victims also positively identified the recovered Toyota Innova as getaway vehicle of the suspects

Police recovered inside the vehicle two bags owned by the victims, and other items.

Tapang said they are now coordinating with the Highway Patrol Group and Land Transportation Office to determine the owner of the vehicle with no plate number attached.

He said they are still conducting further investigation to identity and arrest the suspects. (MAP)
