MisOr’s delicacies take centerstage in Centrio Ayala Mall

THE delicacies of each of the municipalities and cities of Misamis Oriental highlight the second “Tienda sa MisOr”: A MisOr Food Exhibit as it opened Monday afternoon, September 16, at the activity center of Centrio Ayala Mall, Cagayan de Oro City.

The food exhibit, according to the Provincial Tourism Department Head lawyer Jeffrey Saclot, the food products displayed are what each of the municipalities and cities of Misamis Oriental can offer to the local and foreign tourists.

“Why food exhibit? Governor Bambi Emano’s vision is to come up with a common pasalubong item or food product that we can offer to our tourist when they come to Misamis Oriental. This is a showcase of every municipality’s or every city’s food products,” Saclot said.

“We started the food exhibit last year and we are very much thankful to the Centrio Ayala Mall management for always offering the activity center of Ayala mall as the venue of our food exhibit,” he added.

Provincial Governor Yevgey Emano, for his part, said the people are more aware of Misamis Oriental and what it can offer, such as its tourist spots.

“I think we are on the right direction in what we’re doing to achieve that people will be able to know where Misamis Oriental is, where Region 10 is, and the tourist spots that we can offer to them,” Emano said.

However, he added, that there are also those who seek not just the tourist spots but also the delicacies of Misamis Oriental, food products that are being promoted by not just the municipality or city but also the province.

Tienda sa MisOr is one of the events lined up for this year’s provincial-wide Tourism Week celebration. Other activities include: Sikaturismo Presentation, Food Product Presentation Contest, and the Search for the Misamis Oriental Singing Ambassador.

The food exhibit runs from September 16 to 20.
