POLOG is headed to the finals of two different divisions after emerging victorious in the semifinals of the Consolacion 10th Mayor Alegado’s Cup Basketball Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019.
Polog defeated Garing, 75-72, in the semis of the Midgets Category B. Ranged against the same opponent in the semis of the IB Seniors Category B, the result remained the same as Polog ousted Garing, 68-64.
Flourcence Alipan led Polog’s Midget squad with 21 points while Ben Carlo Alin added 17. Benjie Pepito also helped out with 12 markers.
Paul Branzuela led Polog’s Seniors team with 16 points, while Thomas Martel and Joseph Pepito had 10 points apiece.
In the Open division, Maritha notched its first win of the tournament by defeating Saritha, 87-75. Emmanuel Villamor and Randy Colonia shot the lights out in this game as they scored 24 and 22 points, respectively, to even up their win-loss record at 1-1.
In the SK Juniors Category B, Tolotolo advanced to the finals by trouncing Garing, 89-77. Jessie Bathan scored 25 points to lead Tolotolo to the championship round.
Meanwhile, in the Midgets Category A, Jugan got the best of Lamac, 84-59, thanks to the 25 points of Vince Daclan. (JNP)
