TEAM Tangkong and Team Batong were victorious in the opening day of the 1st Casa Mira Linao Friendship Games Basketball Tournament at the Casa Mira Linao basketball court in Minglanilla, Cebu.
Team Tangkong beat Team Saging, 96-86, after Niño Wenceslao and Sean Gabinete combined for 52 points.
Wenceslao scored 28, while Gabinete had 24 markers. Carlo Cana was also in double figures with 16 points.
Ivan Divinagracia led Team Saging with 21 points, Gil Divinagracia chipped in 15 points, Julius Albores added 12, while Elinito Tojino and Brett Eleguin scored 10 apiece.
Team Batong, on the other hand, defeated Team Kamote, 87-76, in the other game.
Arvin Calumpang exploded with 29 points, while Jeffrey Piala scored 24 for Team Batong. Jhonarie Alquilos and Jboy Fernandez were also in double figures with 15 and 12.
Erol dela Cruz poured in 25 points, while Edmund Capirada and McGibersob Ponce contributed with 16 and 14.
The tournament has a total of eight teams. (EKA)
