THE 2009-Crossfit Subtero snapped the three-game winning streak of the 2012-Pioneer Auto Supply with a 55-52 win in Division C of the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) 2019 Cebu Landmasters Cup at the Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City on Wednesday night, September 18, 2019.
Ian Roma delivered the go-ahead three-pointer that gave 2009 the lead for good, 54-52, with 1:11 to go in the game. Moments later, a free-throw by Jaffeth Quinanola raised 2009’s lead to three, 55-52, 15 seconds remaining in the game.
2012 had a shot at tying the game but Patrick Go’s potential game-tying triple missed with five seconds to go.
Justin Gatchalian led 2009 in scoring with 10 points while Roma, Erik Tan and Niel Benedicto had nine markers apiece.
In Division A, the 1990-Bayfront Hotel edged the 1995-Belaz/Air Spencer, 51-49. Joel Co once again led 1990 with 12 points including a crucial deuce that gave them a 49-45 lead with 34 seconds remaining.
