Mayor to boost MSMEs products

ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. wants to boost the “pride of place” of micro, small and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs) through the launching of the city's souvenir shop, also known as a One Town One Product (Otop), recently.

The souvenir shop will showcase food and non-food items manufactured by members of the Angeles City Association of Micro and Small Enterprises (Acamase), as well as art works of local artists from the Culture and Arts Council of Angeles (Caca), located on Nepomuceno St., Barangay Sto. Rosario.

The mayor said he will continue to support the stimulus program of MSMEs for local inclusive growth.

“This is to enable communities to determine, develop, and promote products and services that are rooted in its localities, and culture as well,” he said.

Through the efforts of Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and the Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (Acedipo), the preparations of Otop's opening has been initiated.

To date, K's Creations, Taram Kalis, Chilonia Fabrica, Tamayuq, JJBMS Blooming Greens, and DNC Halamang Gamot have their products on display at the newly opened Otop.

Meanwhile, Acedipo OIC Irish Llego said anyone interested can apply for a membership in Acamase.

“Mag-member muna po sila ng Acamase. Requirement para makapagmember ng Acamase dapat DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) registered, tapos may barangay permit,” she said. (PR)
