SETTING the tone to a gentleman’s outfit is that perfect pair of shoes. More than its design, however, there’s something to be said about a perfect fit, custom-made pair. This is something Godfather Shoes understands and makes sure to deliver, one pair after the other.

The brand was established in May 1, 2016, founded by husband and wife Joseph Aaron Angeles and Ayn Buyco Angeles based in the Luzon region of the Philippines. The brand started when Aaron decided to make a career shift from employee to entrepreneur. During weekends, he would go to Marikina to check out the shoes there. With P5,000 and a vision, five pairs of shoes were created and were sold to families and friends.

“From there I realized, if I continue to follow my vision, I can produce something that everyone could benefit from,” he said. Since then, the brand has gained enormous recognition from locals and celebrities alike. By 2017, the brand had already sold 5,000 pairs of shoes. The rest is history.

Coming up with the name Godfather Shoes was created not only inspired by the cinematic masterpiece “The Godfather” by Francis Ford Coppola but was done so, hoping that it would resonate with men as something they could be proud of. It’s a brand that, Aaron shared, could be at par with imported brands at a more friendly price.

Proudly handcrafted in Marikina, Godfather Shoes specializes in thoughtfully curated shoes, understanding the science behind the creation and the finish, carrying different designs from oxfords to brogues, to name a few. The unique part is the personalized engraving of the shoes and even the wooden shoe box. Having said that, the brand doesn’t just cater to men but also women looking to add to their shoe collection.

Recognizing the demand of the brand to be closer to the Visayas region, it branched out to Cebu City, owned and managed by husband and wife team Rigor Lois M. Alamar and Andrea Laila Verdadero-Alamar. They’re also in charge of marketing for the Visayas region.

The Cebu showroom opened last June 1 and caters to clients by appointment basis in order to thoroughly cater to its clients.

“We want to give clients our full attention and do the shoe fittings exclusively,” shared Rigor. It carries not just shoes but also belts, leather key holders and sling bags. The store also retails shoe care products like brushes, polishes, shoes trees, and shoe horns and leather moisturizers.

The Cebu showroom is located at the second level of Arcy Gayatin Bldg., A.S. Fortuna, Banilad, Cebu City.
