‘Connectedness’ vital in digital pivot of firms, PLDT says

TELECOMMUNICATIONS giant PLDT Inc. is pushing for digital solutions that would help both small and big companies scale up in today’s internet era.

Gary Ignacio, vice president and head of fixed core business solutions at PLDT Enterprise, said digital solutions are needed to compete in a market that has significantly evolved both locally and globally due to the internet.

“In the midst of the digital journey that businesses like us have embarked on lies the foundation of connectedness. In enterprise space, connectedness means virtually connecting our multitude of offices, branches, stores and warehouse all of the physical aspects of our geographically-dispersed business presence,” he said at the company’s event dubbed as “Let’s Talk Tech: TECH TALK - Less Talk, More Tech for Enterprise Customers.” PDLT gathered a hundred representatives from major information and communications technology (ICT) firms and other businesses in Cebu to introduce to them its enterprise products.

The telco company introduced its Branch-in-a-Box WiFi that aids business owners to “set up their branch network and enable WiFi access for guests.” “It’s suited for small and medium businesses. The Branch-in-a-Box provides customers with a central IT networking capabilities without spending a fortune,” Ignacio said.

Clarisse Parulan, product manager for informative enterprise networking, said this would allow owners to focus on running their business operations.

“A simple platform that provides SDWan, security, WiFi, and marketing capabilities will tremendously help you to focus on your core business,” she said.

The company also introduced PLDT Cloudline, “a cloud-based unified communications service working on a converged voice and data network for enterprise users to stay connected anytime – whether on IP Phone, smart devices or computers.” “In today’s world, we are always expected to stay connected even if we’re on the go,” said Irene Balanga, product development officer.

Other products include the firm’s ePLDT Cyber Security that predicts, prevents, detects, and responds to cyber-attacks; Smart Bizload, a loading platform that makes it easy for companies to power their employees with Smart prepaid services; ePLDT VITRO Data Center that addresses company needs in security, data accessibility and disaster resiliency with its globally recognized data center facilities.
