Stand Up for Life

AT 33 the Rotary Club of Metro Baguio (RCMB) intends to pursue more projects for the needy community in the society.

rcmb president Ofelia Villanueva said with the RI theme “Rotary Connects the World”, they are encouraged to achieve the avenues of service of rotary.

“May our loving God continue to bless us in service to our brothers and sisters in need,” Villanueva said in her message during the celebration of the 33rd Charter Anniversary of the club on September 16.

This pursuit for humanitarian projects for the betterment of community was even strengthened with the signing of sisterhood agreement of RCMB with Rotary Club of Villa de Bacolor and Rotary Club of Bauang La Union, District 3790.

RCMB Club secretary Audrey Sungduan said apart from establishing bond of friendship among the members the sisterhood agreement also aims to initiate planning for mutually acceptable joint Rotary projects in fellowship and service and complete at least one project within the term of the agreement.

Rotary International District 3790 governor Andronico “Sonny” Pahed, the special guest during the occasion reminded the Rotarians about the true essence of service above self.

Furthermore, he appealed to all Rotarians to be role models armed with the right values.

“It is very important for us Rotarians to live on to higher honor and higher level of integrity and dignity in our life because we are the models of our society,” the governor said.

The event was also attended by different rotary clubs with past district governors Linda Winter and Rolando Villanueva.

Through the years the RCMB has been very active in spearheading community service activities for the less fortunate not just in the locality but also in far flung areas such as the Barangay Kadayacan in Maria Aurora, Aurora Province where they implemented the water pipe system project. May this dynamic club continue to lend a hand to those who are in need of help.
