LANIPGA booked a spot in the semifinals after it thwarted Tolotolo, 96-82, in the IB Seniors Category B division of the 10th Mayor Alegado’s Cup Basketball Tournament last Tuesday, September 17, at the Consolacion Sports Complex.
Lanipga finished the game strong, outclassing its opponent, 23-13, in the fourth to come away with the win.
They would now face off against Garing with the winner advancing to the finals against Polog.
Jenmar Arvilla, Michael Barong and Junrey Arcilla were unstoppable for Lanipga with Arvilla finishing with 31 points, Barong scoring 29 and Arcilla ending up with 27.
In the IB Seniors Category A, the defending champions Pulpogan stayed in contention as it defeated Sacsac, 72-63.
Rexon Moneva paced the winning side with 22 points while Chris Perolino had 13.
In the Midgets Category B, Tolotolo prevailed over Sacsac, 72-63, to advance to the semis where they will duke it out against Garing.
Aljie Loro led Tolotolo with 16 while Johnrey Nique and Joshua Aguanta had 15 and 14 points, respectively. / JNP
