NOT satisfied with divesting the victim with her belongings, robbers mauled a 47-year-old woman in Cagayan de Oro City Saturday evening.
Police identified the victim as Jovelyn Dijan, of Barangay Macasandig, sustaining head injuries after two unidentified men hit her with a stone along a dimly-lit corner of Barangay 35.
Operatives at Police Station 2 (PS2) said the incident happened the other day at around 9 p.m.
The victim, who was seen sprawled on the ground and bloodied, was immediately brought to a nearby hospital.
Investigation revealed the unsuspecting Dijan was walking in the area when the suspects suddenly approached her from behind.
Held under knife, Dijan was forced to give her cellfone and cash worth P3,000. But not yet satisfied, the suspects mauled and hit her with a stone before leaving.
"Nagka-salbahis na gayod pag-ayo ang mga hold-upper karon. Human manulis ila pa gyod nga pasipad-an ilang biktima. Malagmit naka-drugs ang mga suspetsado kay adunay pangedaron na ang maong babae apan wala man sila mibati og malooy," one responding operative told this paper.
To the relief of the victim's relatives, Dijan was declared out of danger at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC). (SVB)
