P242,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P242,000 worth of suspected “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug busts of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Bacolod City from September 19 and 20.

The operations also led to the arrest of three drug personalities identified as Irene Mostoles, Rafael Gonzaga, and Jane Balico, all residents of Bacolod City.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Mostoles was arrested by operatives of Police Station 3 led by Major Ruel Culanag after she sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police undercover at Sitio Sibucao, Barangay Banago at about 2:45 a.m. Friday, September 20.

Police recovered from Mostoles’ possession four sachets of suspected shabu weighing 12 grams with estimated market value of P180,000, the P500 marked money, and coin purse.

Gonzaga was arrested by operatives of Police Station 8 led by Major Charles Gever at Purok Paghidaet, Barangay Tangub around 10 p.m. Thursday.

Police recovered five sachets of suspected shabu with estimated market value of P17,000, and the P200 marked money from him.

Balico was arrested by operatives of Police Station 4 at Purok Chereza 2, Barangay 27 at 9:45 p.m. Thursday.

Police recovered from Balico’s possession five sachets of suspected shabu with estimated market value of P45,000, the P500 marked money, and P500 cash proceeds.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facilities of Police Stations 3, 4, and 8 and are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
