THE 2002 Goats raised their unbeaten streak to four games as they bested the 2000 Millennium Bugs, 69-61, in Division 2 of the University of San Carlos (USC) North Alumni Basketball Club 2019 Cebu City Mayor’s Cup at the USC North Campus gym on Saturday, September 21, 2019.
Guard Andre Ynclino led the Goats with 27 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block as the team improved to 4-0 (win-loss).
In other Division 2 games, the 2003 Rebels kept the 2002 Lions winless with a 62-37 victory. Miguel Peras presided over the romp with his 12 points, six boards, four assists and two steals.
Meanwhile in Division 1, the 1996 Chubbies bolstered their record to 3-0 after defeating the 1994 Bulldogs, 67-57. Emmanuel Llenos nearly had a double-double for the Chubbies with 12 points and nine rebounds.
The 1998 Sipat also claimed its second win in three games after it routed the 1992 Little Rascals, 76-54. Criz Matunog sizzled for the winning side as he knocked in 20 points and grabbed six boards.
Then, in the Seniors division, the 1986 Siargao Wave Riders improved to 3-0 with a 63-39 win over the Bai 1991. Arturo Mata filled the stat-sheet up for 1986 as he had 23 points, seven rebounds, nine assists and six steals. (SunStar Cebu)
