DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio offered a total of P300,000 reward to those who can give information on the six suspects in the August 29, 2019 rape and murder of a four-year-old child in Paquibato.
“[The mayor] offers P50,000 each per head of the suspects for persons that could give information for the arrest of the six suspects involved in the rape and slay of the four-year-old child in Paquibato,” Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Police Captain Nolan Tagsip said on Friday, September 20, 2019.
The suspects were identified as Steve Allan, Jerome Bang Gaan, Jorex Manlangan, Mayonado Calibay, Jomar Cariaman and John Onsilag, all residents of Barangay Tapak Proper, Paquibato District.
In an interview, DCPO Director Alexander Tagum Sunday, September 22, said they were still waiting for the warrant of arrest.
“The case was regularly filed in court. It will take the court a minimum of 60 days to study the case and after they are satisfied with the evidences submitted, release the warrants of arrest for the six suspects, until then will we start our service of warrants for these fugitives,” Tagum said.
He assured that they will hunt down the suspects and urged the public to cooperate with them by providing information.
It can be recalled that a four-year-old girl was found dead and naked in a grassy portion of Barangay Tapak in Paquibato District at 1 a.m. on August 29, 2019.
The victim was a resident of Sitio Mangani in the same village.
The autopsy confirmed that the child was raped before she was killed.
Some witnesses to the heinous crime positively identified the suspects.
DCPO said an Intelligence Group has been deployed to monitor the whereabouts of the suspects.
