2 ‘robbers’ found dead in Casili

TWO men from Cebu City were found dead on a vacant lot in Barangay Casili, Mandaue City on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 21, 2019.

The victims were identified as Ryan Barbosa Taniega, 27, and Stephen Gallardo Balbuena, 24. Both are from Barangay Punta Princesa in Cebu City.

According to Corporal Cyrus Buot of the Canduman Police Station, residents of the area said a black van passed by the vacant lot. Minutes later, gunshots were heard.

Buot said the residents then saw two men whose hands and mouth were bound by packaging tape.

The victims bore gunshot wounds in the head, chest, neck and jaw.

The police found a folder with the words “Tulisan mi (We’re robbers)” near the bodies.

Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) recovered three empty shells of a 45 pistol from the crime scene.

They also found three small packs of suspected shabu in the victims’ clothing.

On Sunday, Sept. 22, two women went to the police station to inquire about the bodies found. They were told to proceed to the funeral parlor where the bodies were taken.
